This is a gift for a special friend of mine. The idea for the design of the columbine didn't come from me. I've reworked it after a painting by Albrecht Duerer.

Ohhh...such a tiny and delicate beauty. Your friend surely is lucky! I have the exact same flower and color in my 1:1 garden.
I didn´t know the english name Columbine. In danish it´s called Akeleje or Fairy skirt. If you take a close look at the petals, they do look like a tiny skirt for at fairy.
They're granny's bonnets here or aquilegia and they are one of my favourites. My nana gave me one years ago when I went off to uni, so they always remind me of her.
